Lawrenceburg Kiwanis Club Scholarship Program

| Kiwanis International was founded on January 21, 1915 in
Detroit, Michigan. Kiwanis is devoted to the principle of
service; to the advancement of individual, community, and
national welfare; and to the strengthening of international
goodwill. The Kiwanis family today has more than 600,000 members
worldwide in more than 13,000 clubs in 70 counties. The
Lawrenceburg Kiwanis Club was established as one of the first
Kiwanis Clubs in the world on January 27, 1923. This club has
been serving the community for more than 83 years. Kiwanis has a
long history of commitment to improving the lives and welfare of
children and young adults. Kiwanis International sponsors and
supports several club formats for young people through Circle K
clubs for college students, Key Clubs for high school age
students, Builders Club for middle school age students, and
K-Kids Clubs for elementary school students. The Lawrenceburg
Kiwanis Club proudly sponsors the Lawrenceburg Key Club (founded
in 1962) and the Greendale Middle School Builders’ Club (founded
in 1986). |

Eligibility Criteria:
|
- Must be a high school senior who is a resident of
Dearborn County or attends a high school in Dearborn County;
- Must be planning to attend college in the fall of 2008
as a full-time student pursuing a 2-year or 4-year degree at
an accredited institution in Indiana, Ohio, or Kentucky; and
- Must have a cumulative GPA in the 2.75 – 3.25 range.

Evaluation Process:

Submit your completed
application to the Dearborn Community Foundation, Inc.
office no later than
4:00 pm on Monday, January 14, 2008.
- Completed application must include an essay addressing
the appropriate question(s).
- Application will be reviewed for eligibility,
completeness, and professionalism.
- Applications will be submitted to the DCF Scholarship
Committee for evaluation based on student’s GPA, community
activities, school activities, work history, awards and
recognition, achievements, financial need and an essay.
