Ronald Selmeyer Scholarship Program

Ronald Selmeyer, a former Greendale City Councilman, was nominated and awarded a 1999 American Hometown Leadership Award through the Wal-Mart Foundation. Nominees were elected officials who “make a difference” in their communities. With this award, Mr. Selmeyer has again made a difference in his community by establishing the Ronald Selmeyer Scholarship.
 
Amount of Scholarship: at least one $500 scholarship
 

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Must be a graduating senior or graduate of Lawrenceburg High School with a minimum grade point average of 2.4 on a 4.0 scale, or current collegiate student with a minimum grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale;
  2. Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree;
  3. Must maintain a drug-free lifestyle; and
  4. Household income should not exceed $75,000.
 

Evaluation Process:

  1. Submit your completed application to the Dearborn Community Foundation, Inc. office no later than 4:00 pm on Monday, January 14, 2008;

  2. Completed application must include an essay addressing the appropriate question(s);
  3. Application will be reviewed for eligibility, completeness, and professionalism; and
  4. Applications will be submitted to a scholarship committee for evaluation based on student’s GPA, community activities, school activities, work history, awards and recognition, achievements, and financial need.
